Hi There! My name is Barbara Sue and I am the owner of AntiDePress-Ons. To understand our Mission, you must know how we got here. Our Story Starts off in 2020 on my balcony in a bad place mentally.My Panic disorder and depression I had developed at age 11, resurfaced due to my meds wearing off.The pandemic and my mental disorders in full swing left me lonely,unmotivated and scared. After weeks of bed rotting,doom scrolling and countless panic attacks,I needed something to pull me out of it.

I remember Childhood and loving coloring and sketching up quirky abstract drawings and the joy it brought me. In an effort to feel like myself again, I bought myself some paints and a couple canvases and just let my creative side run wild. After a while I found myself excited to get up and paint instead of pulling the covers over my eyes and avoiding the world.

Lately, I found myself expressing my style and self care through nail art. It became a ritual, a way to focus on beauty even when the world around me felt dark. I have bought countless pairs of nails ranging from nail salon-quality to press ons at your local drugstore from the time I was 11 to now at 25. These nails started my self care journey once again and gave me a reason to smile and express myself and bring out my inner diva.

After a while, I often became bored of seeing the same nails week after week or paying way too much for a set that only last 2 weeks. I needed nails that reflected my personality and quirky nature while being affordable.

This year, 2025, I decided to start up painting again and combine my love of nails and art. I decided in early March to make the move to a smaller canvas, one where I could share my art with a bigger audience and inspire them to take care of themselves even if it's just wearing eccentric nails to make you smile.

AntiDePress-Ons is a nail shop not only to help me with my mental wellbeing but to share my expriences and help others who are suffering with a mental health obstacles as well. It's a small step, I realize, but one I found helped me bring myself back to who I am again and thought I would share with the world in hopes that it helps even one person feel they arent alone and to inspire them with a form of self care to start their healing journey.
